AFCON Champions Cameroon Welcomed Home

Published
Cameroon's national football team received a rapturous welcome in the streets of Yaounde on Wednesday as they paraded their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations trophy. The team had earlier been welcomed and received by President Paul Biya at the presidential palace, where each player and the coach received a medal. Fans of the Indomitable Lions lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the victorious side. Coach Hugo Broos and his side defied expectations going into the tournament, following squad selection headaches. The team has a crucial double header against Nigeria coming up in August and September as they look to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
