At Least Two People Wounded In A Suicide Blast In Somalia

Published
In Somalia, at least two people have been wounded in an explosion near a security checkpoint. Authorities were trying to flag down the vehicle -- which was laden with explosives -- when the blast took place. A spokesperson for the regional administration says the security forces managed to foil the terrorist attack. Somalia's capital has seen frequent bomb attacks at hotels and military checkpoints. Militant group Al-Shabaab has often claimed responsibility. Authorities say the blast could have caused many casualties if the car had reached its intended destination.
