Published
A new batch of Chinese medics are expected in Algeria following the completion of the tour of duty by the current team. The team of 70 medics, which left the country on Monday, had been helping with medical emergencies in the rural areas since 2015. The teams provide additional capacity to local dispensaries and hospitals in the country. Algeria was the first African country to receive a Chinese medical team in 1963. China has so far sent more than 20 medical teams, comprising more than three thousand doctors to Algeria.
