Forces allied to Libya's eastern government have carried out an air strike against a military transport craft in the central district of Jufra. The head of the military council in Misrata has been injured. The strike, and clashes that preceded it on Monday, have raised fears of an escalation of violence between Libya's two main military power bases. Tensions have been building between the Libyan National Army led by Khalifa Haftar, and forces from Misrata -- some aligned to the UN-backed government. The two sides were in opposing alliances that fought for control of Tripoli in 2014, leaving Libya with two competing governments.
