Kenya Welcomes IAAF Move To Freeze Change Of Nationality

Kenya's athletics president says the country is not against the transfer of allegiance but he wants clear laws in place to manage the process. Since 2003, more than 60 Kenyans have given up their passports to compete under different flags, notably Bahrain and Qatar. During the 2016 Olympic Games, 20 Kenyans were competing for other countries. It raised questions over the IAAF's rules regarding the transfer process. This month the world body put a stop to any transfer of allegiance until a taskforce set up to advise on the process releases its report.
