Kenya's Government To Increase Youth Involvement In Agriculture

Kenya is pushing for more youth to be actively involved in agriculture. The sector is the largest employer in the economy, accounting for 60 per cent of the total employment. Over 80 per cent of the population, especially those living in rural areas, earn a living mainly from agricultural related activities. But the average age of actors in the sector is 63 years. In a bid to make to stir up agribusiness and make it even more attractive to the youth, the government has pledged to introduce technology to help boost overall production.
