Nearly 1.5 Million People Have Fled Since Violence Began

As we heard there, thousands of South Sudanese civilians have fled the latest flare-up of violence in the country. Many of the refugees are crossing the border into Uganda, which will put strain on that country's resources. In Uganda, refugees are registered, given small plots of land, building materials, and food rations. But the country's already hosting over half a million South Sudanese. The number of South Sudanese who have fled since the conflict began is nearing one point five million.
