Amid increasing criticism of state-owned entities, the South African Forestry Company (Safcol) has been performing well.
With a R1bn turnover in the last financial year,the company is competing with listed giants such as Mondi, Sappi and York.
However, the rampant illegal land occupation and a fraught land claims process could jeopardize the viability of the company.
