Teams have begun arriving in Uganda's capital of Kampala as the city prepares for to host the IAAF World Cross Country Championship for the first time. Fiji, Australia, South Korea and even the United States are already in the country. Team USA's athletes took to the course Wednesday evening. The twenty eight-member team consists of Kenyan-born Leonard Korir and Olympic 5000 meters silver medallist Paul Chelimo. The Americans hope to perform well at this year's championship after taking silver in the senior men's contest in 2013. America's senior women's team finished fifth in 2015. This is the first time the senior women and men race the same distance of ten kilometers on what has been described as a tough course.
