Turkey to deploy troops in Libya

Turkey will soon join the list of Western powers with troops deployed in African countries, after its president Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday his country respond positively to Libya's request for military support.

Libya’s internationally recognised Government of National Accord (GNA) has been fending off a months-long offensive by General Khalifa Haftar’s forces in eastern Libya, which have been supported by Russia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
