UN General Assembly President Visits Ethiopia

The United Nations General assembly president Peter Thomson is on a visit to Ethiopia. The visit is meant to straighten relations between the UN and both Ethiopia and the AU. This is Thomson's first official visit to Africa since taking office as the General Assembly president. His visit will also focus on accelerating the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. This is with a special focus on engaging with the African Union to strengthen the linkage of Agenda 2030 with Africa's Agenda 2063. Following the talks the African Union and the United Nations agreed to cooperate on the peace and security fronts.
