US Renews Sanctions On Sudan For Another Year

Sudanese people are frustrated by renewed sanctions from the United States. On Monday US President Barack Obama renewed sanctions imposed on Sudan for a year, saying that the policies and actions of the Sudanese government continues to pose a threat to national security and foreign policy of the United States.Cities like Nyala in the south west have been plagued by poverty and conflict as the country faces economic hardships. The situation could now get worse. While some Sudanese agree with the move, members of the ruling Sudanese Conference party continue to downplay the sanctions.
