Over 300 Migrants Hoping To Reach Italy Rescued At Sea

At least 340 migrants and refugees have been rescued while trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea. The migrants and refugee include women and children who left the Libyan coast in hope of getting to Italy. Some of them came from as far as Pakistan. According to the United Nations more than 3,740 migrants and refugees have died on their way to Europe.This past weekend, Italy's coastguard coordinated more than 6,000 sea rescues. As it stands the number of migrant arrivals in 2016 is almost 155,000, which was the total for all of 2015. In 2014 there were 170,000 arrivals
