Former Warriors right-back George Mbwando, one of the standout players in Zimbabwe’s Under-23 side at the 1995 All-Africa Games, has shared words of encouragement with the current crop as they begin their journey towards Olympic qualification.

Mbwando was part of the historic Zimbabwe U23 team that won a silver medal at the 1995 All-Africa Games, after losing 3-1 to Egypt in the final.

The former Warriors star is now lending his experience and inspiration to a new generation of Zimbabwean footballers chasing Olympic glory.

Outrage On Trump’s Threat To Iran+Akpabio: No Vacancy In Aso Rock+ Kwankwaso Contradicts Obi|OjyOkpe

President Donald Trump delivered a jaw-dropping address at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, telling Iran he would either annihilate the Islamic Republic and "drive them into hell" or offer them a deal, prompting parts of Iran's delegation to walk out in protest, while Trump separately predicted a deal would come once the November midterms are decided.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines of UNGA, Trump was confronted by CNN's Kaitlan Collins over when the war with Iran would end, and instead of answering, he reminded her that he had banned CNN, Politico and MSNBC from the White House just days earlier.

Vice President Kashim Shettima's arrival in New York to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 81st UNGA went viral, with the Vice President leading a delegation that includes Foreign Minister Bianca Ojukwu, Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara and Minister of Solid Minerals Dele Alake, and set to deliver Nigeria's national statement on Thursday.

Concurrently, Senate President Godswill Akpabio fired back at calls for President Tinubu to hand over duties to Vice President Shettima, declaring in Akwa Ibom State that there is "no vacancy" in Aso Rock and that only he can declare one.

NDC Vice Presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso stirred reactions after vowing to bring fuel prices down and reintroduce subsidy "in a different form" if elected, a position that appears to contradict his running mate Peter Obi's stance against restoring subsidy.

Meanwhile, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde rebutted FCT Minister Nyesom Wike's claim that President Tinubu gave Oyo State N50 billion for the Ibadan Airport upgrade, insisting the project is being funded entirely with state resources.

Separately, Makinde has filed a suit against Abia State Governor Alex Otti at the Umuahia High Court, challenging a N200 million fee imposed on presidential candidates seeking to display campaign materials in the state.

Meanwhile, Apostle Johnson Suleman praised Otti's governance record in Abia, prompting a sharp response from actress Doris Ogala, who is also eyeing the Abia governorship ticket, accusing him of praising a state he doesn't know well.

Primate Elijah Ayodele generated fresh reactions with a prophecy suggesting a second Tinubu term could only be completed "by the grace of God," invoking a Yar'Adua-type scenario, though Arise News notes this is a religious prophecy, not a verified forecast.

In Lagos, a display of 1,000 synchronised drones lit up the Lagoon for the Obafemi Hamzat PBAT-KOH 2027 campaign, forming the Deputy Governor's image before senior APC figures and artist Teni.

In Abia State, First Lady Priscilla Otti rolled out health insurance and N50,000 in financial support for persons living with sickle cell disease and albinism during the state's Care and Fair Outreach Day.

Finally, Afrobeats star Davido and Africa's wealthiest man Aliko Dangote were pictured together in New York's Times Square, watching the Dangote Refinery's "Made in Nigeria, Built for the World" campaign light up the iconic billboard.
