Namibia said Monday it had rejected a request by billionaire Elon Musk's Starlink to operate its satellite internet services in the country, marking a second setback for the company in southern Africa.

Namibia on Sunday slammed a deal announced between oil giants TotalEnergies and Petrobras for offshore exploration in the Luderitz basin, saying the government had not been notified.

Namibia's late President Geingob laid to rest

Thousands of Namibians attended the state funeral of President Hage Geingob following his death nearly three weeks ago. Geingob was interred in a mausoleum at Heroes' Acre on the outskirts of the capital, Windhoek.
