Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita has replaced the country's Prime Minister. In a decree announced on state Television, Boubacar stated that former Prime Minister Modibo Keita has been replaced by Abdoulaye Idrissa Maiga. Maiga is a longtime ally of the head of state. Boubacar also added that his brother Modibo had tendered in his resignation prior to the announcement. Mali has suffered instability following the 2012 coup that saw the end of long time president Amadou Toumani Toure's rule.
