The International Arabic Calligraphy and Miniature Festival in Algiers have brought together artists from around the world. Exhibits from the participants are a mixture of colour and script. Sponsored by Algeria's Culture Ministry, the festival aims to develop creativity, and share knowledge and skills. The participation of Chinese calligrapher Ma Yi Ping has given China momentum in its relationship with Arab nations. The event takes a look at the changes calligraphy has gone through as an art form through the ages.
