Burundi deforestation: degradation accelerating climate change disasters

Each year Burundi loses up to 38,000 tonnes of soil because of land degradation and deforestation.
The United Nations says a growing population is driving the loss of forest.
It has accelerated climate-change-linked disasters like torrential rains, floods, landslides and prolonged dry seasons.
