In Burundi, around 90% of the population rely on agriculture for a living. But with limited arable land, farmers struggle to make a living and in turn, 65% of the population live below the poverty line.

A new initiative implemented by agriculture experts from China is looking to introduce a new form of rice to help those who need it most, and transform Burundi’s agricultural sector.
