Egypt's new Suez Canal is set to be inaugurated on August 6th. The army led work on the 8 billion dollars canal 12 months ago. It is next to the existing, 145-year-old waterway. The project is seen as a symbol of national pride and a major chance to stimulate an economy currently suffering double-digit unemployment.
