#Uganda has concluded its 10th Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (#POATE), the country’s largest annual tourism showcase. The three‑day event, held at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala from May 21 to 23 brought together tour operators, investors and international travel buyers to market Uganda’s tourism potential. However, alongside investment discussions and destination promotions, concerns over the latest #Ebola outbreak in neighbouring DR Congo and the risk of cross‑border spread dominated many conversations. Some tour operators have reported cancellations, as fears over the outbreak continue to affect regional travel confidence.
