UN member states are meeting in Kenya’s capital Nairobi for the UN’s Environmental Assembly.
On the agenda is a plan to make a legally binding treaty to restrict the use of plastic and pollution and environmental activists have called for a ban on all single-use plastics.
On the Lamu islands, off Kenya’s coast, a group of campaigners are opening a plastic recycling facility to re-use the plastic pollution that litters the beaches.

Al Jazeera’s Malcolm Webb reports from Lamu, Kenya.
