Former Gambian spy chief Yankuba Badjie is in police custody. Badjie was arrested on Monday and faces allegations of torture and disappearances during his watch. President Adama Barrow has promised sweeping reforms, including dealing with perpetrators involved in the torture of political detainees under the former regime. He has also promised the release of political detainees.
