Greek parliament ratifies Greece-Egypt maritime agreement

Published
Greek parliament has ratified today the maritime agreement signed between Greece and Egypt. Greece and Egypt signed this maritime deal 03 weeks ago. Turkey had rejected Greece-Egypt maritime accord calling it " infringement of Turkey's maritime rights". Angered by this deal, Turkey resumed exploration activities near Greek island Kastelorizo on August 10. Now when Greek parliament has approved the maritime deal signed with Egypt, it will lead to further escalation of tensions between Greece and Turkey in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean Sea.
