Health: Ebola vaccine, WHO vision report, Nigeria cancer awareness

DRC EBOLA VACCINE: Health authorities in Democratic Republic of Congo are introducing this week a vaccine against Ebola in the country’s eastern provinces, to counter the current outbreak.

WHO VISION REPORT: A report released recently by the World Health Organization says at least 2.2 billion people have vision impairment or blindness, of which over 1 billion cases could have been prevented or have yet to be addressed.

NIGERIA CANCER PATIENTS: Nigeria accounts for the highest cancer mortality rate in Africa according to the World Health Organization. Several non-profits in Nigeria are taking information about the disease to the streets and sponsoring underprivileged patients for treatments. Timothy Obiezu reports from Abuja.
