ICC hears first war crimes case from Sudan’s Darfur conflict

Eighteen years after the start of Sudan's Darfur conflict, the first man suspected of war crimes has appeared at the International Criminal Court.
Ali Muhammad Ali Abd-Al-Rahman, better known as Ali Kushayb, considered the leader of the government-backed “Janjaweed” fighters, is facing 31 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
