The Western Cape High Court will tomorrow and Thursday this week hear President Cyril Ramaphosa's urgent bid to halt Parliament's Impeachment Committee on the Section 89 from proceeding. The President wants the process suspended pending the review of the Section 89 Independent Panel report and that found that he has a prima facie case to answer over the Phala Phala matter.

The committee came into existence after the Constitutional Court ruled that impeachment proceedings should be instituted against him and it opposes the President's application.

To talk to us about the Constitutional implications of President Cyril Ramaphosa's court application, we are joined by Senior Lecturer at the Wits School of Law, Dr Shadi Maganoe.
