In Johannesburg, South Africa, the World Environment Day was celebrated with an initiative called "Waste Stops with Me". The event, organized by environmental activists Miss Earth South Africa and the Johannesburg waste management company, Pikitup, was aimed at encouraging members of the local community to help become more aware protecting the environment.
