Kenya contributes around 4-thousand troops to the 22-thousand strong African Union mission in Somalia. Since 2011, they've helped drive al-Shabaab out of major towns and cities. But the group continues to launch deadly guerrilla-style attacks. Last year saw a string of deadly assaults. TOUCH The heaviest losses were in January. Al-Shabaab attacked El Adde Camp, blasting their way in with a suicide car bomb and opening fire on the soldiers. More than a hundred Kenyan troops were killed.
