In the early 90s the then Sudan was in turmoil as people of the south were struggling for independence. Aid was needed and Lokichoggio airport served at one of the world's biggest humanitarian airport. Years later Lokichoggio international airport is under renovation by the Kenyan government and is seen as vital in the development of northern Kenya
