Libyan man suspected of making Lockerbie bomb in US custody

The man accused of making the bomb that exploded on Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988, has been taken into custody and has appeared in Federal Court in the US.
The attack — the deadliest on British soil — killed 270 people, including 11 on the ground.
Relatives of the dead have expressed their relief at the developments.
