The longest production train in the world rolled into the harbour town of Saldanha Bay on the Cape West Coast today. The 4-kilometre long train will do regular runs between the Sishen Mine at Kathu in the Northern Cape and Saldanha. It's part of Transnet's bid to lower business costs.
