Perhaps you're familiar with Saffron – its a spice used in foods, coloring, medicine and perfumes. And… it's the most expensive spice in the world.
It can sell for up to 1,200 dollars a kilogram… or 15 dollars for just a couple of grams. Presently, Morocco is the top producer of saffron in Africa.

The country produces nearly 7 tons of it every year. Over 90 percent of the valuable spice is cultivated here… in the Taliouine region, which is at the heart of the industry.
