Masive explosion and fire at Engen refinery in Durban, South Africa

An explosion happened at the Engen refinery in Durban South Africa at 07:00 Local time with smoke and fire seen coming from the site - reports say that the fire was contained at 08:30 with firetrucks seen leaving the scene, However many local residents are reporting the fire as having spread to their homes with many smoking houses nearby seen.
Seven people have been injured and taken to the hospital as a result

Reports from insiders working at the refinery state that a number of people died on site, however there is no confirmation as of yet as to how many people have died, Families have been called in to help with identifying the bodies though.

Many of the locals surrounding the refinery have been complaining about the toxic gasses leaving the facility before and the lack of proper safety regulations around it.

Many people are claiming the explosion was a result of sabotage, due to the recent announcement of the plant shutting down.

There have also been reports that equipment at the plant is either outdated or degraded such as fire detection and prevention systems.
