Niger's officials are counting votes in a presidential election that could lead to its first peaceful transition of power between two democratically elected leaders.
Residents ventured out to choose a successor to the incumbent President Mahamadou Issoufou.
Former Interior Minister Mohamed Bazoum is a leading favourite in the West African country that has seen several coups.
