Plans are going ahead for an Antarctic Centre in South Africa so that scientists returning from the South Pole can process their research. Government today launched the 2019/2020 Antarctica season in Cape Town, in partnership with its Norwegian counterpart. It's part of efforts to cement South Africa's position as a gateway to the polar region.
