Progressive Student Movement reacts to increased violence in schools

Educators at the school where Tshepo Mpehlo was stabbed have appealed to the government to find a way to allow educators to discipline learners. They were speaking at the funeral service of the fourteen-year-old, who was fatally stabbed by a fellow learner at the Thuto Tiro Comprehensive School earlier this week.

The Progressive Student Movement has registered sadness and harsh condemnation in respect of the number of learners killed in schools. Recent cases include 2 learners stabbed in Posmansburg, 1 learner stabbed in Sebokeng and 2 who succumbed to food poisoning in Brits,
