Proper Arrest Procedure Not Followed In The Arrest Of Mido Macia

Published
A police trainer says proper procedure was not followed by police when arresting Mozambican taxi driver Mido Macia. Warrant officer Yolanda Coetzee is among the state's witnesses giving evidence at the North Gauteng High court. She's told the court that it's the duty of the arresting officer to report an injury of the suspect and ensure that medical attention is given. Macia died in police cells in February 2013, after being dragged behind a policevan in Daveyton.
