Seaweed Farmers In Trouble As Zanzibar's Economy Struggles

Zanzibar's position as the world's 3rd largest producer of seaweed is under threat. Climate change is warming the waters around the island and that's caused a decline in the volume of Zanzibar's key export earner. Farmers are then hit by a second blow, as global prices for the commodity, declines. Seaweed is a key ingredient in food, cosmetics and medicines in Asia, Europe and North America.
