South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa announces new localised restrictions to stem a resurgence of Covid-19 in the south of the country, amid growing fears new infections could spiral into a second wave. As the festive season and summer break approaches, Ramaphosa insists, "this virus does not take a holiday".
