Thousands of South Africans have walked off the job to protest against the rising cost of living.
They want the government to intervene as fuel, electricity and food prices soar.
The protests, led by the country's biggest union, also decry power cuts and high unemployment rates in South Africa.

Al Jazeera's @Fahmida Miller reports from Pretoria, South Africa.
