Subdued African Nations Championship kicks off

Published
A quieter-than-usual African Nations Championship will take place in Cameroon. Fewer fans will attending matches to reduce the risk of the coronavirus spreading. This tournament is different to its big brother, the Africa Cup of Nations, in that only domestically-based players are allowed to compete. But most African football leagues have been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so preparation has been challenging. Local fans, though, are excited that the tournament is being held at all.
