Tension between Sudan military and transitional government grows

One of Sudan's top military leaders says the transitional government that took over during the 2019 coup needs to take a more active role.
But politicians claim the military has resisted reforms and accused it of trying to seize power.
After a war of words, the military withdrew its protection of the civilian committee formed to dismantle the former governing party and fight corruption, prompting demonstrations in support of the civilian leadership in Khartoum.
Al Jazeera's Hiba Morgan reports on how an attempted coup last week has worsened tension between the military and the government's civilian faction.
