UN Approves Increase Of Its Troops Deployed In South Sudan

The UN Security Council has voted to send 11 hundred more peacekeepers into South Sudan. This brings the number of troops on the ground to almost 14 thousand. The UN also has extended the mission's mandate until July 2016. This decision came as South Sudan marked a dismal milestone -the second anniversary of the start of its civil war.
