Boko Haram attacks cripple major highways in Nigeria's Borno State

Road users in northeast are living in fear after highways and key supply routes came under attack from militant fighters.

Several Nigerians reported that the Maiduguri - Damaturu highway had become a no-go area due to heightened militant activity. Maiduguri is capital of Borno State, birthplace of the Boko Haram insurgency.

Aid agencies also said ambushes by armed groups have made travel risky and complicated the delivery of humanitarian aid to a region at the heart of the Boko Haram insurgen…
