Senegal's opposition party and civil society groups have called for three days of nationwide protests starting on Monday.
They said the arrest and charges against opposition leader Ousmane Sonko are politically motivated, and have also denounced violence employed by security forces to crush the growing anger.

Al Jazeera’s Nicolas Haque reports from Dakar, Senegal.
