ANALYSTS: PROPOSED SENATE EXPANSION TO STRENGTHEN GOVERNANCE
Political analysts say the proposed increase in the number of Senators under the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill will widen the pool of potential Ministers, enabling the President to appoint capable officials to drive socio-economic development in Zimbabwe.
Among the Bill’s 21 clauses, Clause 8 proposes granting the President powers to appoint an additional 10 Senators, raising the total membership of the Senate of Zimbabwe to 90.
