The ANC has expressed concern over amendments made to legislation by Minister of Communications and Technologies Solly Malatsi. The ammendments relates to communication imperatives pertaining to relevant legislations in departments and entities that falls under the Communications and Technogies department. These amendments were gazetted on the 12 of December. ANC MP Khusela Diko says Malatsi cannot amend legislation via a policy directive.
The party believes that the Gazette introduces policy directions that exceed the minister's legislative authority. And it therefore undermines South Africa's transformation framework, threatens the integrity of our ICT and postal regulatory environment.
