With local government elections just a few months away, the ANC has declared 2026 the year to fix local government and transform the economy. This emerged during President Cyril Ramaphosa's delivery of the party's January 8th Statement at the Moruleng Stadium, outside Rustenburg. The ANC's 114th anniversary event was attended by thousands of party faithful, leaders of the alliance as well as fraternal parties, including Zanu-PF, Frelimo, MPLA and Swapo. Ambassadors from Cuba, Venezuela and Palestine were also among the dignitaries.
