ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa came out emboldened at the party's National General Council earlier this month. This after calls from certain quaters within the party that he must step down following its poor perfomance in the 2024 national elections failed. Delegates at the party's mid-term review also endorsed the establishment of the Government of National Unity confirming Ramaphosa's longstanding view that the GNU is best for the country.
